Voice-activated public toilet ⬇️ Among other things, Japan is famous for its automated toilets… The “Hi Toilet” by Kazoo Sato u002F Disruption Lab Team, was inspired by research on user behaviors in public toilets and led to the concept of the VOICE COMMAND Toilet. Developed over three years, this innovative design, predating COVID-19, gained acceptance during the pandemic for its “contactless” user experience. The toilet is capable of executing commands like opening and closing doors, flushing, turning the sink on and off, and even playing a variety of music genres. 🎵🎶 The “Hi Toilet” is part of the broader “𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐲𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐭” renovation project, reshaping public restrooms in 17 Shibuya locations. Symbolizing Japan’s hospitality, this initiative involves 16 Japanese and international creators in redesigning facilities, offering a unique blend of innovation and cultural expression. @thetokyotoilet_official This is one of my favourites of the project and also has a pretty night illumination. I would have never thought I’d go out to look at and film public toilets 😄 but here we are… Side Fact: It’s also seemed to be featured in the Academy Award nominated movie “Perfect Days” by Wim Wenders, which I’m looking forward to watch next week!
